When you look at the popularity of Jordan’s today versus 5 years ago, you’d be surprised at the difference. It’s not hard to find a celebrity, musician, or in fact, anyone walking down the street who is rocking a pair of Jordan’s, particularly the Jordan 1, 3, and 5, and 6 silhouettes.
Fashion and trends are a continuous cycle and favourite silhouettes come and go, but Jordan’s remain timeless and are in their own lane when it comes to the sneaker game. Here at Kershkicks, we’ve narrowed down some of our favourites and ones we think you should be adding to your rotation as soon as you can.
Jordan 1 Retro High University Blue
Paying homage to Michael Jordan’s alma matter, this iteration proved itself to be an instant hit with fans of the hoops silhouette. Constructed from a blue nubuck upper, the slick options dons’ white accents across the toe box, midfoot, and midsole whilst black laces and branding offer a clean finish.
Jordan 1 Retro High Dark Mocha
For fans of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Travis Scott that are looking for a slightly more obtainable pair, the Dark Mocha iteration is the answer. Perhaps one of the cleanest releases in recent years, the neutral offering sports black and white leather overlays and is finished off with dark brown suede on the heel and ankle collar.
Jordan 1 High OG Seafoam
Releasing in the peak of summer this year, the “Seafoam” iteration of the Jordan 1 High OG has proven itself to be a worthy contender of the perfect summer pair. Dressed in clean overlays of muted green and white, the details lie in two-toned orange and white laces that add a pop of colour.
Jordan 3 Retro A Ma Maniere
This pair holds itself in the field of “grail status” when it comes to Jordan 3s thanks to its simple but effective design features. Collaborating with luxury streetwear boutique A Ma Maniere, Jordan brand took the classic hoops pair and added high-end tumbled leather, buttery suede, and co-branding details that elevate them to a new level.
Jordan 4 Retro Union Off Noir
Following on from the collaborative duo of Jordan 1s released in 2018, the Jordan 4 Retro Union Off Noir offers a fresh and unique spin on the hoops pair that Michael Jordan donned on the court in 1989. Kitted out in a black upper, this slick pair is highlighted by the signature stitched down tongue inspired by the original sketch of the AJ4 and translucent wings that support the lacing.
Jordan 4 Retro Taupe Haze
Perhaps one of the cleanest and most neutral Jordan 4 releases in recent history, the Taupe Haze colourway has been rocked by the likes of Travis Scott and doesn’t stray too far from the rarely seen purple iteration created for Travis’ friends and family. Dressed in a brown suede upper, this pair opts for black accents on the outsole, laces, and cage overlays that make the silhouette so iconic.
Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo
Needing no introduction, the “Oreo” colourway has featured on a variety of releases throughout the years, most recently this summer resulting in the perfect summer addition. Sporting a fresh white leather upper, the hoops model dons’ grey accents and speckled detailing and a red Jumpman logo offering a subtle pop.
Jordan 4 Retro Lightning
Making its debut in 2006, the Jordan 4 Lightning is one of those pairs that sneakerheads could not wait to return. Wishes were finally granted in August this year as the tour yellow iteration saw a re-release, allowing fans to drool over the striking upper's colour that is complimented by cool grey accents and a white midsole.
Jordan 4 Retro Shimmer
Did you struggle to get your hands on the Air Jordan 4 x Off-White Sail and want something similar? The latest “Shimmer” AJ4 is your best bet. Dressed in nude tones, the hoops pair takes on a nubuck construction, translucent gum outsole, and chrome branding that provides a flashy finish.
There is no doubt Jordan brand has treated us to an array of fire colourways already this year, but they show no signs of stopping with some special pairs being teased in the coming months.
