The Relationship Between Stussy and Nike

When it comes to brand partnerships, there are few as iconic and longstanding as Nike and Stussy, gracing the market with a slew of releases beginning in 2000. The relationship began with the Nike Huarache, then leading to a Dunk High in 2001, a duo of Blazer Mid’s in 2002, and a whole other plethora of silhouettes including the Dunk Low, Air Max 95, Spiridon, and Air Force 1 to name a few. It is without a doubt one of the most respected partnerships within the industry, and rightfully so, as each release has been extremely wearable and iconic in their own regard. However, there is one pair that stands out from the crowd, the Nike SB Dunk Low Stussy Cherry, which we will get into below. Keep reading for the backstory on the storied pair.

When did the Nike SB Dunk Low Stussy Cherry Release?

In 2005, Nike SB released the “Team Manager” series, consisting of four brands and five sneakers, included in the series being the Nike SB Dunk Low Stussy Cherry and another holy grail, the “Tiffany” SB Dunk Low in collaboration with Diamond Supply Co. Now, after almost 2 decades, we have never seen a re-release and many collectors have still never managed to get their hands on the storied pairs. This period was without a doubt one of the most iconic times in the Nike SB brand history, seeing a slew of clean releases that have remained timeless classics. When it comes to the ‘Neapolitan’ SB Dunk Low Stussy Cherry, the clue of its aesthetic is in the name, sporting a leather upper consisting of brown, pink, and vanilla tones, inspired by the love of ice cream during the summertime. Completing the ice cream theme is a cherry on the tongue and insoles printed with a waffle cone effect. The Stussy logo isn’t actually evident on this pair, but there is absolutely no doubt who made this pair when people see them.
