First released in 1988, the Black Cement colourway was rocked by Michael Jordan during the NBA All-Star game in which he bagged the MVP award. This was the only time he wore them that season, opting to rock the ‘White Cement’ iteration for the rest of the season, and then the ‘Fire Red’ colourway for the 1988 playoffs. The sneaker followed suit to the Air Jordan 2 with no swoosh branding evident, resulting in a clean and classy aesthetic that has remained timeless to this day. There are no official details yet, but it’s expected that they will follow the same style as the previously released ‘White Cement’ Reimagined iteration, with aged details on the midsole and Nike Air heel tab and sporting a shape that closely resembles the original 1988 version. The upper is believed to remain leather like all the previous iterations, unlike the recently released ‘Nike Air Jordan 4 Bred Reimagined’, which opted to swap the traditional nubuck upper for black leather instead. We are very much looking forward for these to drop as they are not only an iconic colourway but also one of the easiest Jordan 3 iterations to wear, making it the perfect daily sneaker.
