Taking to Instagram recently to tease a possible Nike Air Ship collaboration, professional BMX rider Nigel Sylvester rose to prominence in the sneaker world in 2018 after the release of his take on the Jordan 1 Retro High. His latest work is rumoured to be for friends and family only, but we may see a wider release if the demand is high, which it more than likely will be.
The pair boats an upper quite the opposite of the aforementioned Jordan 1, with the use of a clean white leather instead of the distressed and aged finish that made the Jordan 1s stand out so much. The clean upper utilises both leather and suede, with a cool blue gracefully dressing the swoosh, ankle collar, and outsole, whilst a deep navy appears on the inner lining.
Standout detailing is the “BIKE AIR” print on the spine, replacing the typical “NIKE AIR” branding seen on the standard iterations. Subtle details like this are what make a pair so special, proving that simplicity is sometimes the key to a successful collaboration.
