What’s the Story Behind Nigel Sylvester and Jordan Brand?

After securing his own collaboration in 2018 on the Air Jordan 1, Nigel Sylvester didn’t officially join the Jordan family until 2021, paving the way for plenty of potential new partnership silhouettes. So far, we have seen the original Jordan 1 release which remains one of the most beloved releases of recent years, as well as a pair of Nike Air Ships remixed with his iconic ‘Bike Air’ branding. However, the latest collaborative effort sways from the use of traditional silhouettes, instead creating a unique take on the Air Jordan 4 dubbed the Nike x Nigel Sylvester Air Jordan 4 Remix 'Bike Air'.

Breaking Down the Air Jordan 4 Remix ‘Bike Air’

As expected, the latest collaboration between Nigel Sylvester and Jordan is a feast for the eyes. The latest works involves a totally revamped version of the beloved Air Jordan 4, otherwise known as the ‘Remix’ and sports a low-top cut, deriving away from the aesthetic of the OG mid-top. The signature wings and lace locks wrapping over the upper are no more, and instead are replaced by a single TPU setup that dresses most of the upper and heel area. This first iteration sports a clean ‘Pro Green’ makeup, with the only accents appearing in black and white on the midsole, resulting in an extremely wearable pair that will more than likely not be the last. The finishing touches appear in the form of ‘Bike Air’ branding on the heel and tongue area, signifying Nigel’s personal touch and the level of freedom he has with Jordan brand when it comes to his collaborative ideas.
