The Rising Popularity of the Samba

If you are up to date with the trends in footwear and fashion, then you will be aware that the adidas Samba has dominated the market throughout the past year, playing base to a variety of collaborations, most notably the Sporty & Rich iterations. However, this is soon to be blown out of the water, with the upcoming adidas x JJJJound Samba duo sure to cause a stir in the industry, thanks to the constant popularity surrounding JJJJound collaborations. The Montreal-based designer has amassed a variety of work throughout the years with brands such as New Balance, Crocs, Reebok, Vans, Dr Martens, and A Bathing Ape amongst others. The Samba will be the first adidas collaboration for JJJJound and looks to follow the same principles as always; a sleek, simple aesthetic that works with every outfit and occasion.

The Details of the JJJJound Collaboration

Two colourways of the Samba have been revealed, featuring a classic combination of leather and suede on the uppers, synonymous with the typical Samba aesthetic. Branding is kept as you’d expect, simple and clean, with the infamous JJJJound name replacing where ‘Samba’ typically appears next to the three-stripes on the midfoot. The colour combinations nod to the classic nature of the Samba with the use of cream, black, white, and pecan brown resulting in two pairs of sneakers that ooze authenticity and a throwback aesthetic. An additional classy touch is that each individual pair is made in the adidas factory in Scheinfeld, Germany, ensuring the utmost quality and craftsmanship and exemplifying JJJJounds dedication to their collaborations. To emphasise this, JJJJound have dedicated a campaign on their social media, interviewing some of the factory workers and creating a storyline in line with the launch, of which we have attached some of the clips and imagery below.
